HOW DOES MORPHEUS8 WORK?

This procedure is truly unique because of its combination of RF energy and micro-needles – it reshapes and tightens the skin and triggers collagen production through coagulation and precise heating. During the treatment, microneedles pass the top layer of the skin and reach the sub-dermal layer. The pinholes, made by microneedles are tiny but strong enough to stimulate the body’s healing process that speeds up the cell turnover.

    • WHO IS A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR MORPHEUS8 FOR THE BODY?

      This procedure is perfect for patients who wish to avoid more invasive or surgical treatments. It is minimally invasive and it doesn’t require a long downtime. Patients can resume their daily routine quickly after the treatment.

      In general, ideal patients for this treatment should be in good overall health and have mild to moderate skin laxity. Patients with all skin types can benefit from this treatment because it has color-blind technology. This means that even darker skin tones can be treated.

      The treatment is not suitable for pregnant ladies, or for patients who have internal defibrillators, pacemakers or other electronic implants.

    • WHAT DOES MORPHEUS8 FOR THE BODY TREATMENT INVOLVE?

      The first step is of course the consultation with Lucia’s skin therapist. The therapist examines the body area which the patient wishes to improve with this treatment and creates a customized treatment plan. The treatment plan includes the number of sessions and the precise length of microneedles that are used during the treatment.

      Before the treatment can start, the patient gets a topical anesthetic that numbs the targeted body area and ensures maximal comfort.

      Then the therapist starts to apply the Morpheus8 applicator over the targeted area. The therapist moves the applicator across the targeted area in a stamping motion. Through the applicator, the delivered RF energy heats fatty tissue. RF energy is delivered in a controlled manner at the predetermined depth into the deeper skin layers. The top layer of the skin doesn't get harmed. The therapist moves the applicator as many times as necessary but he/she can overlap some parts of the targeted area. This way the results are absolutely efficient and consistent.

      Microneedles create microchannels that stimulate a healing process and the production of elastin and collagen. The microchannels are created in a matrix formation that supports the skin and makes it firmer and smoother. Once the skin is filled with newly produced elastin and collagen it gets remodeled and improved.

      During the treatment, the patient feels a moderate prickling sensation, followed by warmth. This is felt when microneedles penetrate the skin’s surface. The Morpheus8 for the body treatment is well tolerated by most patients.

      The treatment time is relatively short - it lasts around an hour. It all depends on how large is the treated area.

    • WHAT ARE THE SIDE EFFECTS OF MORHEUS8 FOR THE BODY?

      Since the RF energy heats the deeper layers of the skin in a precise way and it doesn’t heat the top layer of the skin, it doesn’t ablate the surface of the skin. This powerful but gentle technology causes only minimal side effects compared to other resurfacing treatments. This definitely singles this treatment out. Also, one of the biggest advantages of the Morpeus8 treatment is that it can be used for darker skin tones because it doesn’t cause thermal damage to the top layer of the skin.

      Morpheus8 for the body cause only minor side effects like redness, soreness, small bumps, bruising, itching and swelling that should stop after a day or two. Right after the treatment, the patient may have tiny points of irritated skin which also resolve after a few days.

      Usually, the downtime is between 2 and 5 days - after that, the patient can return to everyday routine.

      During the recovery period, the patient should avoid strenuous exercise, saunas or hot baths because heat and sweat can irritate the skin. Also, the patient shouldn’t put on sunscreen or moisturizers for the first 24 hours and avoid irritating and scrubbing the skin. After that, the patient should use a high SPF when exposed directly to the sun.

      The results include firmer and smoother skin. The new collagen and elastin improve the skin texture and improve cellulite, stretch marks and other skin imperfections. The skin laxity is reduced because the skin is mildly lifted.

      To achieve the best results, the patient is recommended to have from 3 to 6 sessions. It all depends on the treatment plan. Every patient is different - some can achieve results after just one session. Generally, each session should be 4 weeks spaced out.
